Quarto Consulting is an internationally recognised business specialising in change management, helping businesses advance their professional and interpersonal skills.
A lot of their business is focused around consulting and courses, including their BSPI (Behavioral Style Preference Indicator), an online questionnaire which identifies your behavioural style then produces a bespoke report and emails this to you.
At the time, Quarto Consulting were pained by the amount of time taken to run their Management Consulting courses using outdated software. This was resulting in an inundated amount of manual work required to send people the BSPI, then email them their reports and reminder emails.
A new system was clearly needed, with the goal of the new system allowing them to run their courses in a much easier fashion, including features such as automatically sending out reminders, emailing the reports, and also providing the site with a new look.
Development of a new platform
As we agreed the initial scope of the platform, it was clear that there were more features on the wishlist. As a result, we made the decision to move part of their 3-day (in-person) course online.
In doing so, we created a Moodle learning platform with all their content stylised in their brand colours. This also involved designing the BSPI (and later another application called 7P Benchmark) to automatically integrate with the moodle platform
Later on during the development, there was a requirement for multiple languages. This meant we had to rebuild the entire system so that the text could be read in different languages. The result was a new e-learning platform that could also be read in simplified Chinese, with emails and reports also being available in other languages.
The end result
As a result of their new platform, Quarto Consulting were able to significantly reduce the course length, allowing users to do pre-work before the course, with the course content focusing instead on the intricacies of skill development and change management.
The added benefit of their new platform also meant they have a 100% reduction in paper wastage, with their 10+ page reports and 40+ page courses being moved online!
